 DataEase users?
Is there an Internet newsgroup of DataEase users? I know there is one on
Compuserve but I prefer the Internet access.
Thanks, Nathan

 DataEase users?

I haven't found one yet....but every once in awhile out comes another
DataEase user...maybe someone should start one....

I would be very interested in how others are using the product and
what magnitude of implementations have been achieved successfully .

There must be lots of us Dataease users around the globe, how can you
start a group?

In the meantime, I'm using Dataease 5.0 for windows and setting up a
marketing database. God how I love those GPF's! - can't wait for the
first patch to fix some of the bugs.

There are some of us out here who use DataEase and have been on the net for
years. ;-)  It's still the best kept secret in the database world.  Ease of
use and low maintenance applications seem to frighten those who use other
products.  They are used to writing code rather than simply filling out a form
and being productive instantly. <g>

Although the new 5.0 products have not reached 100% stability yet, DII is
working hard (with a limited staff) to make it so.  There should be a patch
out for the Windows product within the week and several patches have already
been released for the DOS product.

As to starting a newsgroup, it would be a great idea but we would need to
start a petition and gain some critical mass first.  If you would like to join
me in this endeavor, I'll be happy to try to get the ball rolling.  For right
now, there are few DataEase users I know of who are on the net.  We need to
encourage as many as possible to monitor this NG and post.  If you know of
others with net access and could help this process, it will be easier to forge
a new reality.

Meanwhile, if there are any questions I can answer here, I'll be happy to
try... The CIS forum is sponsored by DataEase International but largely
staffed by Consultants on a strictly volunteer basis.  As one such, I would
gladly expand my interests and efforts to the net.

One of the chief technical people at DII is setting up a UNIX box with an IP
connection in his spare time and preparing for the future.  If we can get
everyone who uses DataEase and the net to check in - either drop me a MAIL
message or post to this group, it might help some to see the interest and
facilitate our efforts.

 DataEase users?

Yes it would be nice to have a group for DataEase users....there seems to
be a strong loyal (quite) following. I recently met the new Canadian Sales Rep
for corporate accounts from DataEase...It now appears that DataEase has
finally realized that yes there is a Canada, support and advertising will
be a top priority. Yahoo...I enjoy the product and find it alot easier to
develop in than most on the market....but I was getting tired of trying to
convince my users that this was not a dying product...lack of advertising
and a little late with their Windows product. Alas..long awaited, I wish
them all the luck .
