KT,

Yes, you can use a project like ours (JSQL/Ingres) which allows you
to access Ingres data from just about anywhere using only our all-Java
JDBC classes.

You must install a small daemon on the Ingres RDBMS server, but Ingres/NET
is not required on the server or the client.
