 ODBC error code 182

When I go to my ODBC window on Win2000Pro, and try to add a new DSN
( user or system ), I get an error message saying the installation
routines  of the ODBC dBase Driver  could not be loaded because of the
system error code 182. This error came up after I loaded in the
DOT-NET framework and had updated to MDAC 2.7 RTM Refresh as required
by DOT-NET.  I tried installing then re-installing the DOT-NET but to
no avail. Then I un-installed and re-installed MDAC. Same error comes
up. After the error I ran a MDAC check (cc.exe) on my system and
received this report:

UsageCount: 5
Driver: C:\WINNT\System32\odbcjt32.dll
Setup:  C:\WINNT\System32\odbcjt32.dll
APILevel: 1
ConnectFunctions: YYN
DriverODBCVer: 02.50
FileUsage: 2
FileExtns: *.
SQLLevel: 0
CPTimeout: <not pooled>

What do I do? Should I junk the DOT-NET Framework and then re-install
a lesser version of MDAC? By the way, this IIS is running on a desktop
machine for developing reasons.

I would not recommend using Jet, especially for a web based app. I would
use the VFP driver/provider, which can open dbase dbf's.

However, MDAC doesn't include Jet any more, so installing 2.7 won't help
you with Jet. What SP of W2K are you on? If it's less than SP3 then you can
install MDAC 2.5 SP3 right over the top of your 2.7 installation and that
should give you the most current version of Jet and the Jet ISAMs.

I hope this helps,

The latest Visual FoxPro OLE DB provider is available as part of the VFP8
download which is downloadable from http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/.

The latest FoxPro and Visual FoxPro ODBC driver is available from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/downloads/addons/odbc.asp, although it
says that people running Win2K should already have it and should check for
the presence of VFPODBC.DLL. The latest version is 6.1.8629.1.
