Coloring in a drop then List problem.
When disabled text is gray on white.
When enable and not selected text is cyan background around text (my choice)
but text is black on gray.  Why is text using a different background color? I
tried all the possible color settings and could not get text to be black on
cyan.  Is this just the way it works or can I fix it?

Colors should be set in the control panel by the users.

This does not explain why if I set the background color in a combo box the
background color for the text is a different form the background color
surrounding the the text.  For example background is set to cyan, forground
is black.  What I get is cyan surround the black letters which have a gray
background.

I am using VFP 5.0a on Win95 OSR2.  I created a
combobox with style of drop down list, set the
backcolor to cyan and the forecolor to black.
I also added a button to the form to toggle the
enabled of the combo.  When enabled and not the
current control, the combo correctly displays black
text on cyan background.  When disabled, the
combo shows the correct disabled fore and
back colors (in my settings, gray on white).

I cannot reproduce the behavior you are
experiencing.  Are you running NT by any
chance?  I've noticed it do strange things
with control colors.  Also, I've seen some
graphics cards at certain settings interpret
cyan as grey.
