 set nocount on did not work ...

I have a stored procedure which is used in data query routine. There is
temporary table
created in the stored procedure. Actually, a temp variable is created in the
stored procedure
to hold the SQL statement to be executed. The variable will be executed
using sp-executesql
command and the result will be returned to the caller.

The problem is: when the following VB statement is executed:

    :
set rs = Conn.Execute (SQLstatement)    '<=== no error.
 i = rs.recordcount    <=== error (the operation is not permitted when the
object is closed)
    :

I've already put: SET NOCOUNT ON inside the stored procedure but it didn't
help. Why ??

Any idea ?? thanks.
