BUTIL -RECOVER under Btrieve 7.01 ?
I've installed Pervasive SQL Release 7 with Btrieve 7. And I trie to
use on my btrieve files (V7 format, or V6.15 format) the BUTIL tool like
this : BUTIL -RECOVER TEST.BTR TEST.SEQ /O<ownername>
or BUTIL -SAVE TEST.BTR TEST.SEQ /O<ownername>
the result is a message like this : "The value of input parameter is
invalid" whereas a BUTIL -STAT TEST.BTR /O<ownername> works fine.
Have you got any idea ?
The same command was working fine with Btrieve 5 on Btrieve 5 files
format.
Thanks in advance
Chris.

BUTIL -RECOVER under Btrieve 7.01 ?

dear group,
there are a bugs in the BUTIL.XXX  Utilities when it comes to owner names
and using the
command file extentions.  It seems that some of these bugs go back to even
the
BTRIEVE V6.15 times.  At least the last time that I talked to the techncal
support they
where not fixed yet.  These bugs are in all versions of the Netware SQL4.0
and Pervasive SQL
regarding BUTIL.NLM / BUTIL.EXE (DOS)
One way to work around this is to drop the owner names on the files, rebuild
the files and put the
owner names back on again later.

It might be nice to put a little pressure on Pervasive to see the changes
done.  I've reported this in
summer already, and would have liked to see a new BUTIL.NLM for download on
their site by now!!

Anybody from Pervasive listenening????

my regards,
