Seeking Hierarchical RecordSet Grid w/ Multi-Liine Rows

I am looking for a control that supports binding to hierarchical RecordSets
(displaying the "child" rows indented under the "parent" row). It would be a
big plus if it could also supports multi-line rows.

Honestly, the best one I've ever seen is part of Access 2000, but I can't
figure out how to use it (or I might just would use it).

MSHFlexGrid does not indent child rows under the parent, it justifies them
on the right end of the parent, which is not feasable for me since the
parent is long.

ProtoView DataGrid 7 has some wierd behavior properties, like expanding a
parent without pushing down the subsequent parents to fully reveal ALL the
children for anything but the 1st level. This is a major usability flaw for
more than 2 level RecordSets, and forces user to scroll and scroll and
scroll on multiple levels to see the data that should implicitly be visible
by the parent expansions selected. It also shows some {*filter*} screen goobers
that make me wonder if it is really ready for primetime in other than a
2-level situation.

Sheridan's Grid only supports child data flush right of the parent.

Any related experiences or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

If I understand your request, you should be able to use the MSHFlexGrid with
the BandDisplay property set to flexBandDisplayVertical (1)

No, I am looking for child rows that are "indented" under the parent,
looking roughly like:

parentCol1 | parentCol2 | parentCol3
-    childCol1 | childCol2 | childCol3 | childCol4
-    childCol1 | childCol2 | childCol3 | childCol4

MSHFlexGrid, and most other Hierarchical RecordSet binding grids display the
children immediately to the right of the last parentCol, expanding the
hieght of the parent row so as all child rows fit on the right side of the
last parent column of the row.

As I pointed out, ProtoView DataTable sort of does was I want, but with some
(I think) severe usability limitations (see previous post).
