 HELP ME - I AM NEW !!!!
Good people ,

I'm brand new in FoxPRO . Untill I was on Clipper , now  I'm trying on FPD
2.6.
Is any way to make LIB file in FoxPro , which contains more important
functions and procedures ? With which tool ?

Also , I need advice for good books and Foxpro groups like this.

Thanks,
Igor

Hi Igor,

You can quite easily set up a "library" of functions in a separate
program (.prg) file, and then use SET Procedure TO <yourlibfile.prg>
in the declarations section of your main program.

I simply use a .prg which I link in with set procedure to.

As to books, I never worked with 2.x so I can't help you there.

As to groups, check out Darcy Whyte's FoxShare listserve.  You
can subscribe at his page:

There is also

 HELP ME - I AM NEW !!!!

Hi,

I used to Program with CLIPPER, and what i did first when i got VFP 5.0 was
to run mi Clipper source programs, and just except some lines, the program
worked ok.

I advice you to do, is the same i did.

After you see how Fox Pro works, begin making your own systems.

Answering your specific question, you should keep your functions and
procedures. Copy them into a .PRG in Fox.

In order to access and run them, add the following line to the Main Program
of your application:

    SET PROCEDURE TO <File.PRG>

The Program will automatically seek for all your procedures, functions,
et... on that File.

If you have any trouble, you can send a new message to the group, but i
don't usually visit it.

If you want to contact me directly, send me a Mail to:

I'm Javier, and i undestand better if you write in Spanish.

Anyway, i speak english and understand French and Esperanto.

Hope this solves your problem,             Javier

Hi Jefferson!
Copy all procedure/function into 1 file i.e. myLib.prg and  compile it . To
use this lib use the command "SET LIBRARY TO MYLIB.PRG"

Did you say FPD?  Is that FoxPro for Dos?  I'd advise making the jump to at
least FPW 2.6 (if you can find it).  I made the jump from Clipper to FPW 2.6
and am now in VFP.  My advice if you jump to FPW or VFP is to use the Help
systems as much as possible and most important of all learn to use the screen
generator as best you can and you will become very proficient.
