Could not write to the registry - while installing pervasive 2000i on WIndows 2000 server

I have this problem:
While installing Pervasive 2000i sp3 (happens both in server and
workgroup editions) I get this error message:
"Could not write to the registry
ODBC manager driver"

and after clicking OK:

"An error was encountered while installing ODBC core components"

and installation fails.

The system is:
WIndows 2000 server sp2 with IIS installed (domain controller, AC in
mixed mode), some backup soft (tapeware), antivirus (InoculateIT) and
nothing else.
I did switch off all the unnecesary services while installing and
(obviously) was logged on as administrator.

Please help,

Nevyn

Nevyn,

Query the Pervasive knowledgebase, with the keywords "insufficient rights"
I remember an article about the registry keys.
I had a similar problem installing a Btrieve 6.15 application on win2000
server.
On win2000 server, even if you are logged as Administrator some registry
keys are subject to a rights mask.
Use regedt32 (not regedit)
