Ordering the geometry point type

 Ordering the geometry point type

I have a table with a point type included ( as well as box and polygon
types).

In order to remove duplicates after a load I entered:

lv=#   create table lvparcels2 as select distinct * from lvparcels;
ERROR:   Unable to identify an ordering operator '<' for type 'point'
                 Use an explicit ordering operator or modify the query.

I can get around it by using a DISTINCT ON() but I would like to be able to
sort points and/or other geometries, even if its simplistically by X
coordinate or something.

Is it true that the geometry types do not have the ordering operators
(><>=<= etc)?

Regards

Peter
