Password protecting Paradox tables???

 Password protecting Paradox tables???

The login prompt always appears when a Paradox table is password
protected. Is there any way of preventing this. I want to protect the
database, but I want to give my program free access to it. I'm thinking
of hardcoding the password. This way no one can write another Delphi
program that access the database, or use the DBE desktop. The only way is
thru my program!

I know this works with the TDatabase, but unfortunatly not with Paradox
tables, (or dbase for that matter) because the Onlogin event never
occurs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What you're looking for is:

TSession.AddPassword('NoOneWillGuessThis');

You call that to enter as many passwords as you need before setting Active
= TRUE
for the database.

Hope that helps.

In the OnCreate Event add "Session.AddPassword('YOUR.PASSWORD');"

This works for my Paradox Tables.

It's very simple. Try using "Session.addPassword" before opening any
table.
