 Basic ADO Data Control Question

I know this is not rocket science but I cannot get a simple ADO Data control
to work. When I run the project the control is dimmed and none of the bound
controls is populated.

I am baffled because this is about as simple as it gets:
Add the ADO Data Control 6.0 to the project through components
Add the ADODC control to a form
    Set the Connection String property
    Set the RecordSource property

I don't have to set any reference to an ADO library, add a data environment,
or anything else. So what could be wrong?

The connection string is tested and works fine.  The tables for the database
show up in the RecordSource property like they should. I tried using an mdb
file and a SQL Server database; neither will work with the ADO Data Control.

What could be wrong???????

I upgraded to MDAC 2.5 and ran the ComChceker.  I got a few file version
mismatches (STDOLE2.TLB, OLEPRO32.DLL and OLEAUT32.DLL) but we seem to get
these whenever we run the ComChecker.  Could this be the problem?

Am I missing something really obvious?

Thanks
Dave

 Basic ADO Data Control Question

Dave,
Stop the panicking
What I think you may have done is only added one of the Data controls
You must have another control on the form to display something from the recordsource as well
