Storing Word OLE object in Access database - help!

I am trying to write a program that stores some word doc's in an OLE field
in an access database using VB4.
I have tried using the OLE container control, and this works as long as
there is an OLE object in the database field. If not it creates an error
that I have not been able to mask.
Also what is the requied sequence when adding an OLE object into an
existing (empty) field? I assumed it was edit, import the data into the OLE
container control, then Update. This doesn't seem to work.

The only solution that I can see is to read the data from the database into
a local file and then pass this to an unbound OLE container control. When
finished, put it back into the database. I am sure this would work, however
this is what a bound control is supposed to do!

Any help would be appreciated.
