 data bound option button problems

Hi guys,
I am using VB6 and an Access97 database.  I am using option buttons grouped
in frames where I have 2 or more frames on the same form.  The problem is
that each time I choose an option button from one frame, all of the frames
act like they are mutually exclusive.  I can only have one option button
selected on the entire form even though they are grouped in seperate frames.
Is there a property I have to manipulate?

Problem #2
When I update the records on the form, I get this annoying error saying
"type mismatch"  I have a feeling that it has to do with these option
buttons because all of the datatypes of my variables look correct.  Also, I
checked the data types in my database and they look ok also, I am using the
number data type for these option buttons!
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much.
Sandy

When I put these controls on a form in my usual way, I can not
reproduce your problem...but I found a way to reproduce it, by
assembling these controls on the form in the "wrong" way.  I suggest you
redraw all the frames and option buttons in this manner:
  1. Draw a Frame.
  2. Draw the Frame's OptionButtons directly inside that frame - do NOT
draw them anywhere else on the form and then drag them into the frame.
  3. Draw the next Frame.
  4. Draw the Frame's OptionsButtons directly inside that frame - like
step 2.
Using the above steps, I can guarantee (well, Microsoft guarantees) the
frames are fully independent of each other.

Harder to help with this since we don't know what records you are
updating, or with what info, or by what process/control.  You say "I am
using the number data type for these option buttons" - I'm not sure I
follow you.  What's the connection between OptionButtons and Number
DataType?  The subject of your post mentioned "data bound option
buttons" - again, to what data are they bound, and how are they bound to
it?

 data bound option button problems
Hi Jim,
thank you with your reply to my problem.  I deleted all of my frames and
radio/option buttons and started from scratch and I now have found that they
work the way I they are supposed to until I try and bind them to my
Access7.0 database.  This is where I am getting my type mismatch error as
well.  The number data type I was using in my Access table must be the
problem.  Do you know which data type to use with an option button from VB
to an Access database?
thanks again,
