Field not of expected type

 Field not of expected type

My problem is that when I define a memo field in the field editor and then
run the program then the program tries to create the database it gives me
the error:  Field "" is not of expected type.

I would like to know what is causeing this error and how I could fix it.

Thanks.

Tim,

This error occurs when you define persistent field components, using the
fields editor, that cannot be mapped to a field in the underlying table.

What you could to is to delete the pertinent field from the fields editor
list. Then use the Add Fields action (context menu of fields editor) and
select the appropriate field. This will give a correct mapping.

Good luck.

Yes but my program dynamicly creates the database.  how would I make it map
it correctly at the creation of the database?

Tim,

I assume you have done the following:
1. You defined a TTable component
2. You defined fields using the Fields Editor

Possible solution:
1. Delete all persistent field definitions from the Fields Editor
2. Your application will generate a table dynamically
3. Connect your dynamically generated table at runtime to the TTable
component
4. Now you will use ONLY dynamic field components, which should do the
mapping automatically

Hope this works.
