Saving to a database file through Visual basic 5.0

Wondering if anyone can help me?

I'm writing a short database program in VB5 and Access, where the user wants
to search through a list of clients(around 2000) and have the clients'
details displayed. The user also wants to be able to amend that data. The
client details are stored in Access, and VB is being used to create a
running program for the database.
I've created a search engine that enables the user to find a client who is
in the database, but I can't write to the database file in Access. Unless I
load the .mdb file and change it within access, which is not what is wanted.
I can write to the database file if I use a 'Data Control'  property, but
then I can't get the search engine to work. I need both to work in
conjunction.
Has anyone got any suggestions how I can combine the two.
Write a command that searches through the database file and displays an
output, and a command that allows the user to add information to the
database file. I can do each one, but I can't get them both working
together.

Cheers.

Use recordset objects. Look in the help files for DAO or ADO programming
information. The help files include some very good examples.
