JETset evaluations?

 JETset evaluations?

I'd appreciate any impressions, comments, etc. from anyone who has
used the JETset product from Eagle Research OR about Eagle itself
and its support for its other general distribution product VB2D.

I believe there was a JETset beta program or period and I'm told that
the production product is now shipping. Is there or was there an
evaluation copy?

Thanks for any help you can provide.                ...edn

Check out Opus DirectAccess, it is another connection
between Delphi and MS Access using the new JET 3 engine
from Microsoft, thus bypassing ODBC.

It's only available for Delphi 2 of course, but in that case:

Hi Bo,

Thanks for tipping people off about us. And did you receive my answer
to your problem report by now? Did it help? Unfortunately, our mail
server had taken some time off.

I am actually using Delphi 2.01 myself. It works. And to make everyone
a little more comfortable with what we're doing, we actually only replace
the strings that point BDE.dcu to IDAPI32.dll with strings that make it
load ODAPI32.dll. Furthermore, the string which indicates the registry
setting controlling the path where the DLL is to be found is modified
also. That's all. The rest is in the DLL, which "simply" emulates the
necessary part of the BDE's interface.

In fact, we devised this scheme exactly because it would most likely be
more compatible with future releases of Delphi than other techniques
(like replacing BDE.dcu altogether, for instance).

Finally, could you please post this to the newsgroup this conversation
originally started on? And could you please tell me where you found it?
I haven't been monitoring lately, as NT 4.0 ships with an Explorer that
doesn't let me read my newsgroups...

Regards,
peo
