record numbers in VB/Access 2.0 tables
Can anyone suggest how I can display record #'s
when moving through a data control?

I know data1.recordset.recordcount gives me the last record
but how do i find out the current record #?

(i am not using any commercial vbx's other than vb 3.0
so if you know of any pd/freeware data controls let me know
- otherwise I think I will buy sheridan's datawidgets)

thanx

There is no easy way of doing this because MicroSoft did not deem this
important enough feature.  You can however do it yourself.  If you
want to know the current record track it yourself.  When the user does
a large move in the database and you are unsure then you will have to
loop from the current record to the end or beginning of the recordset.
This will give you the record number, then you can Seek back to the
saved bookmark where the user really is.  Yes it's slow and ugly --
it's Access.
