BDE - failure (not enough memory)

Hi,

does anybody have some good suggestions regarding the following
problem: (Delphi 1.02 - BDE 2.5(.2) - Sybase SQL Anywhere 5.5 (5.0))
After some hours of working our program gets the message from BDE not
enough memory (similar to that). After this message the behaviour
becomes strange so that only way to get on is close and restart
program (or windows). This message is alwys sent by BDE.  Some
detailed studys of the memory structures reveals that IDAPI.DLL takes
much memory (around 10 MB) but this should be no problem to the
systems. It seems that the problem is not due to memory shortage
(global heap) because other programs can be started without any
problems and no resource seems to be critical low. Also it happens on
machine with 8, 16 or 32 MB RAM. I 've at the moment no more ideas
what to look for. Things I've checked already:
memory usage of the program, i.e. memory allocated by it - ~ 200KB
          (not much),
system, user, GDI resources - not much too ~20%
used heapwalk to watch the global heap (nothing looked wrong at the
           time of errormsg)

The only thing what needs large amount of memory is IDAPI.DLL. It
creates many 32KB blocks which are correlated to browsing through
tables/queries and could be correlated to heavy use of memofields
(LONG VARCHAR AND VARCHAR(>255)).

Maybe someone can compare this behaviour to Delphi2.0. Is this a
solution?

Many thanks
