Retriving the current Record from MS Access using VB
Hello

I'm logging data thro a VB 3.0 into MS Access DB.  Let's say I have
60 data fields in a record.  I have an Index (call it IndexNo).

I would like to interept the logging leave VB then later come back and
resume the logging at the same record.  Can anyone Please suggest a method ?

I tried Index, .Seek methods.  When I try to store the next data fields
it gives an error (Not current record).

Your suggestions are most appreciated.

        Hi,
As a suggestion, check under BOOKMARK in the docs & help file. That
may be what you are looking for.
Also, make sure that when you interrupt the data entry, the record is
not discarded. If you use the Seek method, you can test for success
with the .NoMatch property.

        object.Seek "=",IndexNo
        if not object.NoMatch then
                object.AddNew

        etc.

        Hope that helps...

You could store the value of the key field for that record in an INI
file and read it back later. For instance, if the last record to be
edited is the one for EmployeeNumber = 1029, store this number with
the WriteProfileString API so you can retrieve it later and seek it.
