Is it possible to install the bde-dll's on the server and point to
them from the clients, so that all files including the application
are on the server and the clients only need a shortcut to
start the application ?

Anyone how to do that ?

Yes.  Bill Todd wrote an article for Paradox Informant magazine
where he described how to do it, and remarked that he wondered
why Borland had never explained or encouraged it.

Not too long after, a sample program for doing this appeared
on Borland's website.  I haven't examined it to see if it's the
same, or different.  http://www.borland.com/devsupport/bde/
