 Oracle 8 vs 8i
Can anyone briefly describe the differences in 8 and 8i?  Is 8i a superset
of 8?  Will it replace 8?

If this is too much to handle here, can you point me to a document
describing the differences?  I've browsed the oracle web site, but no where
do they have a comparison of features.

8i is essentially version 8.1 of Oracle8, so yes it replaces it.  Don't
let the i confuuse you, it's really just a marketing thing.

Jim,

Oracle8i is also Oracle8 v8.1 and therefore will replace Oracle8 v8.0. Oracle
states that there are about 150 improvements / new features in the 8i product
set.
