Function based index on Standard Edition
Hi all,

I've started searching the archives on this but there are many postings on
function based indexes and all (so far) are
more detailed than I need..

My question is simply

"Does the Standard Edition of 8.1.7 support function based indexes?"

or do I need the Enterprise Edition...

Any thoughts appreciated!

Steve

The Standard Edition doesn't support Function Based Indexes. Please verify
by select * from v$option.

Thanks Sybrand,

Incidentally, I did look at V$OPTION but I thought that only shows the
options that are already installed...I knew that it wasn't
of course..

Thanks again ..
