Can OPS$<user> be used for JDBC login?

 Can OPS$<user> be used for JDBC login?
I am trying to use the default OPS$<user> for logging into the database
with an OCI8 driver. Using this login, a password should not be needed.
So far I have been unable to get this to work.

Any suggestions?
