Oracle 8I on NT multiple instances?
Author Message
Oracle 8I on NT multiple instances?
I have multiple databases on my NT 4 server.
I failed to start more than one instance so far.
When I start second instance in svrmgr it is inaccessible via the TNS.
If it my PC is lacking some resources then what resource I can add to work
with a second instance?
If it is a well known problem I'd like to know about it?
In addition I failed to start a second listener service - is any explanation
on this?

TIA

I don't know how you've set things up but NT servers can definitely run
multiple databases unless the box just doesn't have any memory.  And you
only need one listener for all the databases unless you have a particular
reason for multiple listeners.
