v$session - counting concurrent users, etc.

v$session - counting concurrent users, etc.

I have a question on the output of v$session, number of processes,
and concurrent users and Oracle licenses.

My environment -

- in the init.ora file processes=50

- server license from Oracle = 50 concurrent users

- doing select count(*) from v$session returns 34 rows (at this moment)

- 19 of those rows have actual OSUSERS associated with them with actual
connections (program column says TCP TWO TASK, as expected).

Questions:

- is a process equal to one user connection? Would raising max processes
  over 50 violate the agreement?

- 14 of the rows in v$session have empty colums except for user and
schema name, which is SYS (program column is NULL)  What might this
  signify?

- what is the best way to count actual connections while filtering out
any irrelevant data in v$session?  Each row cannot be a "connection"
  or "concurrent user", can it?

Thanks.

v$session - counting concurrent users, etc.

Your processes parameter seems very low for 50 users.
My understanding is that 50 concurrent users amounts to 50 concurrent
physical users, where each user can have as many sessions as they want.
