 Oracle 7.3 on NT 4.0 and VB 4.0 front-end

We are working on Oracle 7.3 on NT 4.0 and VB 4.0 front-end. If I write a
stored procedure to retrieve data and if the procedure has to return multiple
rows to the VB front-end, what will be the datatype of the output parameter in
the stored procedure. Actually I am not sure how to return multiple rows to
the VB front-end using stored procedure. The VB developers will be accessing
data through ODBC API calls.

        Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, Oracle 7 stored procedures do not return rows as of yet.
(Oracle 8 Maybe?)  I have found that with the applications that we have
developed for VB (Or at leas the ones limited to using the ODBC API), about
75%-80% of the requirement can be met with a complex, and well-thought out
view in Oracle, and a simple select statement from within VB.

On the flipside, you might want to investigate using Oracle Objects for Ole
with VB.  It  has support for retrieving a cursor into a read only dynaset
object in VB.
