What does this error message mean?

I had written a program to initialize a database on Solaris2.3
machine which had Sybase 10.0 running [using ESQL/C]. Basically
it just added few records to a new database that was created
outside the program by the SA. I shipped the binary to a site
which had solaris+Sybase and the error they get is,

od.so.1: install_product fatal : lib.ct.o.so can't open : error 2

doesn anyone know what this means?

Please respond by email.

thanks

You linked your executable with the shared lib version of CT-Lib. If you
do this and ship the executable to client sites, you need to also ship
Open Client shared libraries. Also, if the shared libraries are installed
in a different location from when the executable was built, the user
environment variable LD_LIBARY_PATH needs to be set to include the
location of the sybase libraries. e.g.:

        setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/lib:/usr/local/openwin/lib:/sybase/lib

If you don't want to link in the shared version of the libraries, add the
proper flag to your link line to force the use of static libraries.
