 GTI_SQLWINDOWS system process?
Hi

can anyone tell me what GTI_SQLWINDOWS process is? On a particular system
this process slows down the 11.0.2 system very much. It seems to be excuting
INSERT commands to a certain database and causing lots of I/O and CPU usage
on the server and then it gets slow.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe it is a Sybase utility.  It may be a
third party app, or even an in house app.  You need to ask around
internally.

Hi!

The name points to Gupta respectively Centura, I think. They have a
database called SQLBase and a IDE with a language of its own that was
called SQLWindows (the new name is Centura).

The customer uses Quest Reporter as a reporting tool. Maybe that is the
problem?

Quest sounds kind of familiar. Might be, therefore. But is has been some
years since I've dealt with Gupta.

Your customer is using MAXIMO or Quest?  Sure it's a problem... probably
16-bit code, right?  Pre-MAXIMO v4?

Nothing you can really do.  On some tables, adding indices that MAXIMO needs
(but didn't create) is a good idea, but this isn't always the cure.

Yes they are using Quest Reporter v3.x I think... also found out that
their server is very slow and the network is quite overloaded.
