Open Client connection string for IPX

We're trying to play around with Sybase Open Client Library for
OS/2 to see if it fits our needs to connect from an OS/2 client
to Microsoft SQL Server/NT.

Unfortunately, the software was obtained from IBM's Developer Connection
series and does not contain any documentation.

I have succeeded in determining a proper connection string entry to
SQLEDIT for Named Pipes and TCP/IP as a transport, but not IPX/SPX.

Ideally, I wish to use TCP/IP anyway, but would like to try the IPX/SPX
option.  The one example that I can find had only the SQL server's name
in the connection field for this transport, but that doesn't do anything
for me.

Specifiying the NIC address of the server followed by the port number
and network number does not yield any errors, but times out on the
connection.

Can anyone offer a suggestion, example, or format information?

TIA.
