Clustering supported?

 Clustering supported?

I'm trying to put together a table showing the database systems that
support clustering and the open-systems hardware platforms they
support it on.  I've found that Oracle supports clustering via
the Parallel Server feature in V7.0, but I'm in the dark as to
whether Sybase has a similar capability.

Can anybody in this newsgroup tell me if Sybase supports clustering,
and if so, on which open-systems platforms?

Thanks!

I should clarify what I mean by "clustering."  I'm referring to
the ability of multiple computers in a network to share access
to a single set of disks.  For example, with Oracle V7.0 Parallel
Server, I can create a database on the shared disks, then start
a copy of the kernel on each node in the network, having each one
connect to that database.  Applications can then run transactions
against the database from any node in the network, and if a node
fails, they can switch to one of the other nodes.  An example of
this is VAX Clusters.

Thanks,

Mark
