 HELP: DBLIB, ODBC 32, NetLib and windows 95. How to make it work

I upgraded to windows 95 and I need 32 bit  ODBC driver to work with sybase.
It looks like I have two choices.

0. I read in MS KB that their 32 SQL Server does not work with with Sybase

1. Driver which does not use W3DBLIB. I was told about SQLanywhere. I
downloaded beta yesterday and instaled. But  I was not able to setup 32 bit
ODBC to work with Sybase. Could anybody tell how to do it.

2. Driver which does use W3DBLIB. I found one on the net but I could not get
DBLIB working under windows 95. As far as I understand the problem is NetLib
library I am using. So my question is what NetLib library do I need.

Details for 2.

Configuration 1.
++++++++++++++++++++++
We have novell 4.1 here. At first when I upgraded  to windows 95 I kept dos
novell drivers and DBLIB worked fine. I included some info

========================================= autoexec.bat
LH /L:4,44256 C:\network\lsl
LH /L:3,27904 C:\network\token
LH /L:0;1,20800;3,13568 /S C:\xln41\bin\tcpip
c:\network\ipxodi
LH /L:0;3,8288;4,67152 /S C:\network\VLM /V3 /MX

========================================= win.ini
[SQLSERVER]
MYSERVER=WDBNOVTC,158.137.6.152,5003

========================================= system.ini
[386Enh]
DEVICE=C:\XLN41\BIN\VTCPIP.386

With such configuration 16 bits apps worked fine under windows 95 but I had
problems with 32 bits TCP/IP. They just did not work with Novell stack.

So what I did I got novell 32 bit client and intalled it. It works fine and
what I had was
++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Configuration 2
++++++++++++++++++++++++++

========================================= autoexec.bat
rem by Novell ... LH /L:4,44256 C:\network\lsl
rem by Novell ... LH /L:3,27904 C:\network\token
rem I commented out this because it did not work c:\xln41\bin\tcpip
rem by Novell ... c:\network\ipxodi

========================================= system.ini
[386Enh]
; DEVICE=C:\XLN41\BIN\VTCPIP.386
; i commented out this because it did not work

========================================= Network Configuration
Novell Client 32 for windows 95
Token Ring Adapter
TCP/IP protocol
IPX protocol
NetBios protocol

Windows 95 32 ping now works fine. (ping 158.137.6.152) but
wdping MYSERVER just hangs. (so Netlib library WDBNOVTC does not work???,
really I would expect it.)
So the real question is. What NetLib library do I need now.
BTW. 16 bits TCP/IP apps works fine too. Do I just need
WDBWSCK.DLL ???

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you

newsgroups. (we do not have direct internet connection)

 HELP: DBLIB, ODBC 32, NetLib and windows 95. How to make it work

I have a very similar problem.  Sybase Tech support said I could either:

1)  Use 16 bit ODBC drivers since Sybase Net-Lib is 16 bit but I haven't gotten
    16 bit to  work with Access-95

2)  Wait for the Intersolv 32-bit ODBC drivers due out soon which will
    interface to Sybase (by including 32 bit Net-lib(?) NOT compatible with
    MS ODBC, at least thats my understanding).

have been using the 32 bit intersolv ODBC drivers on NT for four
months; as long as I'm using 32 bit apps it works fine.

We had all sorts of problems with Intersolv and Sybase tech
support, both of whom said it was the other suppliers problem,
and neither of whom could offer anything constructive.
(This was ~12 months ago, things might have changed). We
are currently using (very happily) 16 and 32 bit ODBC drivers
from Openlink, to connect a VB application running on a
mixture of NT3.51 and W3.1 desktops, to our system 10 db.

The Openlink drivers do not rely on NetLib or dbLib, making
installation and support (comparitively) simple.

Andrew. You have choice 3. Evaluate the OpenLink 32-bit drivers for Sybase. We do _not_ implement
netlib/Sybase-net/db-lib etc. We implement our own Comms layer - database independent.

Andrew,

My company, Simba Technologies, sells a product called SimbaExpress. It
provides client/server ODBC access to Sybase (and other RDBMSs) w/o needing
vendor-specific middleware like dblib/openclient. We currently have 16 and 32bit
Windows clients.
