 Dumping to tape

SQL Server 10.02, AIX 3.2.5.1.
Anyone out there dumped their database to
an IBM Magstar 3570-B01?
I get "use no-rewind-on-close" when
dumping to rmt2.1. I could use help
to get a successful database dump.

 Dumping to tape

We've had a similar problem, we have been dumping to and loading from an HP
DLT tape device for months, all has been well until recently when we
upgraded HP-UX with a number of patches, now  it always says must use "no
rewind on close" which we are. We have tried using it through logical dump
device names, and by keying the actual device file, all to no success.

By the way we are on HP-UX 10.01 and Sybase 10.

Any help appreciated

Dan

 Dumping to tape

I ran into this too when going from HP-UX 9.x to HP-UX 10.x with
SQL Server 10.  HP changed the meaning of some of the bits in the
major/minor device descriptors.  Sybase supplied us with an EBF
that corrected the problem.  -rs
