 "UNKNOWN TOKEN" in sp_who display

2> go

 ---------------------------------------------------------------------
 SQL Server/4.8/P/Sun 4/SunOS 4.1.X/5/OPT/Fri Apr 24 10:15:10 PDT 1992

A program is loading a new database using DB-Library/C 4.6.  When I look at
the process with sp_who, I see:

1> sp_who
2> go
spid   status       loginame     hostname   blk dbname     cmd
 ------ ------------ ------------ ---------- --- ---------- ----------------
1 sleeping     mark         niren.gi.a 0   suds       UNKNOWN TOKEN
2 sleeping     sa                      0   master     NETWORK HANDLER
      (etc.)

What does UNKNOWN TOKEN mean?  It sounds ominous, but no error messages
are sent by the server to the error log or to the program itself.  Does
anyone have a clue?

Don't worry, UNKNOWN TOKEN in sp_who is normal.  It is output when the server
is not quite sure what to call the command that is being run.
In particular, it shows up when the server is processing an "if", "while",
 or "set" command.

You might also see "UNKNOWN TOKEN" for a process that is running recovery or
finishing initialization.  During startup of additional engines, you might see
a process  trying to start the additional engines in a multi-engine server.

There are a couple of error conditions that mention "Unknown Token", but that is
a different matter.  See the 10.0.1 Troubleshooting Guide "Open Server Error
Messages Related to Backup Server" for information on these errors.
