Accessing Watcom SQL 4.0 for Macintosh using C++

I am just starting on a cross-platform development project (Mac and
Windows) using Visual C++ and SQL Anywhere. Since SQL Anywhere isn't out
for the Mac yet, I am using the previous version, Watcom SQL 4.0 for Mac.
It seems to be working fine, but I am having problems accessing it using
Visual C++ and ODBC. I know the database is working because I can access
it through Excel using Microsoft Query and ODBC, but my first attempts at
accessing it from Visual C++ on the Mac  give me the error "Database name
not found. No default drive specified" or something along those lines.
Watcom SQL 4.0 for Mac was provided to us for evaluation, and did not come
with any real documentation.

If anyone has any ideas, or maybe even some sample code in C or C++ for
accessing ODBC databases, I would be very appreciative.
