INFORMIX 5.00.UC3 & SunOS 4.1.3 cache long name performance

We have a network management station controlling and collecting
statistics from a 14 node Frame Relay Network. Data is received on
a 9.6k link , and stored in the INFORMIX database.

An application function seems to hang probably during a write to the
database. sunOS performance cmds show disk at 80% utilisation (reads)
and the directory name lookup chache has a 34% hit rate with
name toolong value 19344. SunOS performance docs recommend fixing
application based on toolong value. Cache should be at 95% hit.

Has anyone seen this before, and is there an INFORMIX patch?
I dont think we can increase cache size via max users parameter
as its already 50. (system has 32Meg of RAM) suggestions...

Are you using and Informix raw partition for the database? If not, I suggest
you do. This may solve your problem.
