 Session is waiting for long....

Hi,

A perticular session is waiting on a condition "netnorm"
and it's not doing anything for long.
What does it mean and how to make it run ?
Pl. reply as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance.

Abhay
This is normal ,You can not make them to run manually .

For Network connections Sqlexec thread is waits for poll thread to wake
up and to
process client request.
or
client session submitted a query to online , online finished with its
work and
is telling the session to take back these results
I think you can't kill these sessions with onmode -z , because they are
waiting on
condition . The only way to kill them is to bounce the engine or Kill
the Client program

Hope This Helps
Best Of Luck

Hi Abhay,

it's not impossible, that a user turned off his machine
while he held an open connection to the database server.
The server cannot detect the powerfail at the client site
and is still waiting for new input.

PS: I have no idea of what I'm doing, but I'm doing it
with my PC.

netnorm is the condition that the user thread uses when it it waiting for input
from the client in a tcp connection.  Basically that means that it is waiting
for data from the client program.  To get it off the netnorm condition, you
must pass a query to the engine.
