 I-NewEra 2.11.WC1 any significant improvement?

Hello all:

Recently I read about a new release of I-NE, which includes a lot of bug
fixes and support to Windows 95 and NT.

o Anybody is using this new release?
o Any aditional improvement?
o Memory management? performance?
o Is good enough for upgrading or still waiting for 3.0 version?

Thanks in advance,

Well, to start with, 2.11 just started shipping two days ago, so not may people will have much experience with
it. We received 2.11 development last week on a special shipment and the 2.11 deployment yesterday.

First of all, 2.11 does solve the deployment problem under Windows 95 (I believe that the development must still
be done under Windows 3, at least we are still doing this), but I cannot comment on the acutal performance
because we don't have enough experience yet.

I do know for a fact that 2.11 is supposed to use less memory. Some of the classes are not as deep or something
like that.

I would always suggest that if you can slipstream the release, that you always get the latest and greatest
maintenance release from Informix but always be cautious of new major releases. make sure you do enough in house
testing.

I currently have a license for 2.0 including maintenance.  The 2.11
release is being shipped free for the asking, as is 3.0 when it arrives.
Don't know if there will be incredibly significant improvements, but if
you need to develop under '95 or NT as I do, it is worth installing.
