 Can`t recover with onbar

Hello,

i`ve the following problem:

i`ve saved my Informix Instance with onbar / Networker through the
XBSA Interface, it works, no problem.

Now i want to recover the saved Data into the Informix Instance.
Executed steps:

Stop Informix --> onmode -yk
Start onbar --> onbar -r -w --> Message in logfile:
         There are no DB/BLOBspaces to backup/restore.

Start onbar again --> onbar -r -w -t 2001-12-19 16:47:00 (Point in
Time Recovery) --> Message in logfile:
         There are no DB/BLOBspaces to backup/restore.

If i want to recover only a DBS e.g. --> onbar -r data  (Informix
Instance is up --> oninit -v) i got the Message:
         DB/BLOBspace data is not down so it will not be restored.
         There are no DB/BLOBspaces to backup/restore.

Does someone have hints for me?
By the way, where can receive an detailed Description on the sysutils
DB?

Pre-Thanks
Christoph Zink

 Can`t recover with onbar

1 - RTFM
2 - You must be in microkernel mode to perform a cold restore.  Not an
intuitive thing.

cheers

 Can`t recover with onbar
Hi,

You didn't mentioned your IDS and networker versions. But, onbar -r -w
works only when your backup was a whole system backup, i.e. onbar -b -w.
Also you can't restore a whole system till a point-in-time. If you
initiated your backup from networker, then I think it starts only the
dbspaces backup not the whole system backup. In this case you should have
your logical logs also backed up in order to recover.

Shutdown Informix and try onbar -r.

You can get some useful info at:

Praveen.
