 does you remember?

Hi all, some time ago, a discusion was placed in this list under subjet

"IDS & RAID 5 Documentation request"

In this oportunity, I write:

"...in two weeks, I will install another SUN E3500 with same configuration,
aplications, OS, etc., really one "clone" of my actual server, and
aproximately the same workload.   I think I will configure the T3 using RAID
0+1 to make a comparison between the two servers looking for a significative
difference of performance."

Then, I have two "identical" servers and storage (T3), one using RAID 5 and
other using RAID 0+1.  The performance in both servers are the same (or is
not appreciable).

Witch informix command can I run to evaluate I/O performance? onstat -g ioq?
other?
Witch solaris 8 command can I run to evaluate I/O performance  iostat

Thank's a lot

Try,

onstat -D
onstat -g iof

... and

sar -d 1 5

where 1 = every second
and 5 = repeat 5 times

Put 500 busy users onto both systems and report back to us. Don't forget to
monitor checkpoint times and LRU write activity.
