 dbexport + update statistics

I have a simple question about the dbexport utility as a point of curiosity.
Does it issue a 'update statistics' command as part of its work?

I have a simple answer which may satisfy your curiosity: Yes.

No,  Informix tends towards minimalism.  They almost never try to do
several things with the same command when you can achieve the same
effect using different commands seperately, even if, on the surface,
it might seem sensible.

This approach often has unexpected benefits though it requires you to
do more typing!

I'm sorry to take exception with our friend within the BIG I,
especially during this holiday season of good beer drinking (or is
that "goodwill").  As I thought I might be wrong, as I have been in
the past, I even checked some of our sql files created by dbexport,
unfortunately none of them seem to contain the words update
statistics.  Did I misunderstand the question?

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Glug!  or should that be Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year.
Glug!  Maybe - New Christmas and Year Happy Merry.
Glug!  Uh, Year Christmas and New Merry Happy?
Glug, Glug...

Cheers - Jim
PS:  For the non Christion or non religious among you.  Search and
replace Christmas with either the religious Festival of your choice
or Holiday!!
PPS:  For the non-drinkers among you.  Cheers anyway!!!
