 dbspace down
Hi All,

I have a dbspace down on IDS 7.22, the dbspace contains 3 chunks (not
mirrored).  How do I bring them back online.

Thanks

If you are lucky and the reason why those chunks went down is no longer a
problem, a simple way to bring those chunks back on-line would be to use
onmonitor, choose the Dbspaces option, choose the Status option, pick the
dbspace from the list, and then when the chunks are displayed, change their
status one at a time by following the prompts on the screen (F3 or CTRL-B to
change the status of the highlighted chunk...).  This assumes you are
running on a UNIX platform.

Good luck,

Correct the underlying problem that caused them to be offline in the first
place (a disk activation or naming problem perhaps?).  Then use onspaces to
mark the chunks back online.

Tech Support can bring dbspaces back on line ... but I dont know whether
they would touch a version this old.

Restore from archive is the best bet.
