 connection to ERwin

Greetings,

I am trying to get a connection to a database from ERwin from a NT 4.0
workstation  to our Informix instance which is on a Solaris 2.5 Unix box
(Informix ODS 7.23).  I have tlitcp configured in the onconfig and the
sqlhosts done but I'm not sure what I need on the client (NT) side or if
I've got everything for the network connect on the Unix side. Anybody
out there with ERwin that might lend a hand??

Thanks,
Maria

 connection to ERwin

The cheapest way to accomplish this is to install Informix-CLI for WinNT and Informix-Connect for WinNT/Win95 on the NT Client.  This is free with any engine upgrade, and might already be sitting around your organization, given that you are on 7.23.

You will need to configure the Connect software using the SetNet32 program, and the CLI driver using ODBC Admin.

Once this is done, you select the "INFORMIX Connection" option in the ERwin "Server" menu, and supply the User Name, Password, and select the Database (which will appear as the ODBC DSN).

You should now be connected and able to Forward / Reverse engineer to your heart's content.

E-Mail me if you need more specific instructions.
