Sorry if this is a faq, I do remember seeing this discussed
a while back ago, but I didn't keep any of the articles. If
there is a compilation of this topic, can some please send
it to me.

Q. How much of an increase in perfomance can one expect
by switching to a raw device?

Background:   Online 5.00, SunOS 4.1.3, Sparc station LX
