Our core infrastructure systems are based on Informix  - Hooray

Our new CRM system is based on DB2                               - groan

'They' are told all the top Billing systems are O based -

Please fill in the blank.

Any suggestions and comments to pass upwards gratefully received !

Who told 'Them' that?
Last I heard O was upsetting the 'top systems houses' by supplying their own
version, and competing directly.  There is a big German house which was
really squealing.

Try TCO - If you can argue that 'They' might come around.

My other suggestions will not get past my mail box - but that O is so
suggestive

I have a specimen you can pass upwards, if you like. :-)

You tell them *I* say all the best billing systems are Informix based.
Now: who to believe? At a guess, I'd say they've probably heard this
from an Oracle rep?

I mean, for God's sake: let's not do a feature comparison or get to
reference sites or anything. Let's just buy X because it runs (limps?)
on fricking Oracle?

They deserve what they get. :-(

I'm surprised no-one from Logica or CMG has leapt in to defend
Informix?

I wasn't talking about Larry. :-)

You've been awful quiet lately -- working on some new slideware?

Absolutely - the slides for Release 2 are already done, and 10i is in review
as we speak :-)

Anyhow, those of you left here are playing nicely, Batmananger and the Boy
Wonder on The Other c.d.i have stopped the tag teaming, and there's simply
no sport in poking fun at the MS lusers - what's a fricking Oracle guy to do
?

Anybody know if there's a Siebel newsgroup ?

You could always try writing a decent database?
