 Problem with: DBI->data_sources('Informix')
Hi!

Have a problem with:

Nothing is returned :-((

If I'm connecting directly to a database via DBI-connect
all works well.

What I'm doing wrong ...
(Environment INFORMIXDIR and INFORMIXSERVER are set correct!)

zur Verfgung stehen und ob der Treibername 'Informix' richtig ist.
Gross/Kleinschriebung beachten.

nice idea, but driver is available.
I have two (mainly identical) Informix server

I don't know why :-(

If I had to guess, you've not yet connected to a database, and when you
do connect to a database, you have to supply the username and password.
 Under those circumstances, DBI->data_sources won't work.  I tried to
persuade Mr Bunce (author of DBI) to provide optional username and
password parameters to the method, but failed.

As the servers are nearly identical - same Informix version -
there are two main differences.
The OS systems (SunOS 2.6 and SunOS 2.8) and the version oft the
Client SDK kit.

Maybe it is this kit.

Yes, I'm not connected to any DB when I'm trying

but I can connect (and act) to a specific database.
So when I connect to a database and then
try 'DBI->data_sources' it works!

Now I know a workaround!

Thanks!

Merry Xmas, Dirk
