Informix IDS 7.30 to 7.31 (Informix has replied please upgrade)

Hi all,

Informix have given us the usual response upgrade to version .......
My client has just been through two upgrades in the last 2 months, so this
response is wearing thin.

We are currently running IDS 7.30.UC5 on our Sun sparc Ultra-enterprise and
Sun sparc Ultra-5. We are running Enterprise Replication between the two
boxes and have encountered unresolved problems with replication.

Could any who has had specific problems with version 7.30, and has had them
cured by upgrading to 7.31 please advise what the problems were (especially
if in the area of replication).

TIA,

  We have had problems..

7.30.Uc3 would not build indexes properly.
  7.30.UC5 has the problem that:-

sum a field which is decimal(5,2), if the result is larger than
decimal(5,2) then your get a -1226 (Value exceeds maximum precision)
error. This should be fixed in 7.30.UC8 and 7.31.

We just got UC8 at work and a customer will be getting 7.31.uc2 real
soon so I'll get back to you.

I've seen uc6 and uc8 and they certainly fix some {*filter*} problems.

  I'd move to 7.31 ASAP.

I am on AIX 4.2.1, Informix 7.30.UC7-1

I tried this in a program and it never goes past the maximum.  Can you
give me the bug number associated with this?  The place that I am
working at decided it was too expensive to keep Informix support.  It
now looks like it is going to be too expensive to NOT have kept the
support.
