pdox 4.0(dos) - Forms with Displayonly Field
A question about displaying DISPLAYONLY field in a form:

I have a form with multiple pages. On one of these pages, there is no
regular field that I intend to put on the page. All fields are either
DISPLAYONLY field or calculated field(formulas).

When I try to save it, it requires that I need at least a regular field. Is
there any way to overcome this ?

You can "Hide" a regular field by coloring it the same foregroud/background color,
ex: Blue on BLue.  COntrol access to the fie;d through code or Imagerights.
Hope this helps,
Dennis

Not to my knowledge.  Each page must have a regular field placed on it (a
very cumbersome limitation, I know).

Ditto.  Add, at the end of the master table, a field "Page 2" (or some such),
a single character (A1) so you've got a regular field to put on the second
page.  That, or some other field you don't intend to show the user, and color
it so it's invisible.

You could also set up some password protection such that on the
form the field is reg, and before you call the form you set a
"read only" password for that field.  This will then prevent the
user from having access to the field.

David: instead of using the password protection
system, which has a lot of attendant problems,
it's much easier, and *much* more flexible, to
use the various IMAGERIGHTS settings to control
table and/or field access.. this can be done
on-the-fly in your apps, even changing it field
by field as you go thru a table, based on a
certain users rights..
