 The Flame Saga

I don't know how other ppl in this group feel, but here are my views:

1) Gill Bates flamed Kevin unnecessarily, got his {*filter*}flamed right back and
tried to then pretend that he was j/k. This is kinda lame.

2) One doesn't have to tell everyone that you didn't enjoy a joke or set of
jokes. It is of no interest to the majority of readers and doesn't add to what
the group is about, namely posting jokes for others to enjoy. Personally I
thought Gill Bates' jokes pretty lame, but I'm sure there are others who
enjoyed them.

3) Some jokes (Kevin's amongst others) are pretty risque, whether because of
crude language, implication, or what could be seen to be blasphemous by
others. This shouldn't be a reason to not post the joke, but ROT13 was
developed for this very reason and maybe it should be used a bit more often by
all contributors. If you feel you might offend someone, ROT13 your joke and
then no-one can complain if they read it.

4) This is a great news group as is apparent from the number of non-South
Africans contributing to it and reading it. No-one owns it. No-one moderates
it. Let's remember that there are real ppl out there in front of computers
reading and contributing to the group. They have feelings like everyone else
including yourself. Let's not have a few jerks kill this group because of
selfish behaviour, whether it is intolerance of othere ppl's particular sense
of humour, or insensitivity to others' beliefs and feelings.

IMHO these VERY SIMPLE guidelines that are as old as the internet itself will
ensure that this group will continue to amuse us all.
