HELP ABOUT A PARADOX COMPUTER REBOOT

I have a big problem with Paradox on his use on a Nowell 3.12 Network. In a
directory of this NetWork, there is an application. Sometimes, when we try to
open it, we have a computer reboot with no explain message. When this problem
occurs, generally, the nexts attemps to acces to the application produce the
same result. We must wait a moment and after some minutes, sometimes hours,
the problem is solved and we can, with no others explanations, access to it.

We have IPC corporation computer (model : Value Magic 486 dx2 66) and the
connection to our network is made under Windows for Workgroup 3.11.

Is there someone can help me ? thanks !

HELP ABOUT A PARADOX COMPUTER REBOOT

We had a similar problem some years ago, and it turned out
that the Intel CPU (a new 486/100) was defective.

The delay you are experiencing suggests to me that netware has not cleared the user and the
files used by the user are still locked.  Normally when you logout of netware, it cleans up
by unlocking and closing all your files.  In a crash or re-boot, this does not happen.
Usually after 10 minutes or so netware will determine on its own that the user is gone and
will close up files.  The network supervisor can go in and force off a connection, if you
don't want to wait.

As to the source of your problem, it is difficult to venture a guess with so little
information.  Is it a multi-user problem?  Does your problem only occur when a second user
tries to use your application?

Good Luck.
